How to fix USB not recognized
If you insert the USB and it is not recognized in Windows, there are several things you can try to get it to show up in My Computer. Thumb drives or flash drives, USB devices are to be automatically recognized by Windows when you enter. There can be no conflicts or partition issues prevent it from appearing or used for storage. Follow these steps to troubleshoot the USB is not recognized on your computer.
Remove thumb drives
If you insert your USB and nothing happens, follow these steps to try and fix the problem:
* Go to Start and right click on My Computer (or Computer) and select Manage. Under Disk Management, locate your thumb drive, right click and select change drive letter. If you already have a letter, try a different award, as may be trying to use a letter that's already assigned to another device.
* If it does not work, try restarting the computer with the USB adds the USB port and see if that helps.
* Try other USB ports, or try off other USB devices that can interfere with it.
* Under disk management again reiterated USB is partitioned and formatted. If not, right-click the hard drive and proceed to format. Note: All data will be deleted from disk.
To prevent accidental damage to your thumb drive, do not forget to remove it from your computer properly after each use. If the external drive is connected to your computer, you can see the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system try your watch. Before removing the USB thumb drive, click on that icon and find your drive in the list and select "Remove." It will display a message stating when the device is stopped. You can also open My Computer and right-click the hard drive and then select "Eject."
Thumb drives are very fragile and unreliable. It may be possible it has completely failed. Be sure to use thumb drives only as temporary storage, and also try and backup all data stored on removable disks.
